#Plant18 is officially underway! I have spent some time preparing for the start of seeding, but somehow still feel a bit behind! We are supposed to get some rain tomorrow which will allow me to sneak away to do a big grocery haul (and squeeze in a quick coffee date with my bestie!). Look out Costco, here I come!
I’ve been trying to plan out some meals, in advance, that I can quickly throw together for me and the guys during this busy time. I thought I would share with you some of the field meals/recipes that were a big hit last year that I will definitely be using again.
Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork – I’ve tried different recipes with different spice combos from scratch, but this Clubhouse package recipe is delicious, quick, and easy! Serve on a bun with baked beans and a salad on the side.
Anastasia’s Best-Ever Baked Beans – I don’t know who Anastasia is, but she really does have the best baked beans! I made these a few times last year and everyone loved them. I tried this recipe in my slow cooker and oven. Both were good, but I liked them from the oven better.
Crock Pot Chicken Taco Chili– I love my slow cooker and my SkinnyTaste cookbook! Lots of yummy recipes including this one. I serve this chili over rice with a salad on the side.
Taco in a Bag – Or as my American friends like to call it, a Walking Taco! The Farmer and I love our Mexican food. We even had a taco bar for our midnight lunch at our wedding reception! These are an easy way to get your taco fix without all the mess while driving the tractor.
The BEST Dang Chocolate Chip Cookies– Here’s my personal recipe for the best chocolate chip cookies. I always have a container of these kicking around.
Bradley’s Zucchini Muffins – Have any frozen shredded zucchini hanging out in the freezer from last year? I know I do. Try out these delicious muffins!
I’ve had quite a few questions about my new disposable containers that I am using to feed the crew. Last year I was using paper plates and tinfoil to bring out their food but it was such a pain. I wanted disposable containers but didn’t want to produce the extra waste. I eventually found some on Amazon! I’m still on the hunt for environmentally friendly disposable cutlery. If you know of any good kinds/brands, please send them my way!
One thing I have to say is that I am always grateful for the help of my mother-in-law when it comes to feeding the crew! She is always willing to whip something up for us. Last year I think the guys secretly hoped my MIL would bring them supper because she would always bring yummy desserts too! My Mama even made a couple of appearances last year with dinner. I honestly appreciate all the help I can get! 🙂
I hope you enjoy these recipes as much as our crew did last year. It’s my goal to post my field meal plans here each week. I’m also over on Pinterest if you’d like to follow me along there for my recipe pins.
Happy and safe seeding to you all!
Much love,
K.
Hey! Here’s a link for some wooden disposable cutlery. They were on Dragons Den a few years ago (if it’s the same one) and seem reasonably priced. Thanks for the recipes too, sounds like everything is going great for the happy couple! 😊
