Hey, yâall!

My name is Sara Beth Johnson, and along with my husband Colton, we own and operate Flying Pig Cattle Co. in rural Arkansas. Our farm consists of commercial beef cattle, meat goats, mini Hereford cattle, and a handful of chickens. Our three dogs are legitimately our children, we both work full-time, off farm jobs, and our idea of a vacation is usually shutting the gate at the end of the driveway and not leaving the farm. About a year ago, I created a website for our farm, started a blog, and established a social media presence to share our farm story.

For todayâs What I Made Wednesday, I want to share with you my Farm Record digital downloads. Letâs start from the beginning.
Iâm obsessed with podcasts â business, finance, farming, true crime â I have varied interests. One day, while listening to the Fire Drill podcast, the hosts were talking about passive income through Etsy digital downloads. One of the main tips they gave was create a product that solves a problem. What a great piece of advice for any business â Create a product that solves a problem.

So I got to thinking, what is a problem I struggle with, that a digital product could help solve. Eventually I came up with the idea of farm record keeping. Iâm super-Type-A and borderline OCD, but when it comes to our farm records, I always seem to be behind and slightly unorganized. And I donât know if youâve lived through calving season or kidding season before, but once you get behind on recording those babies, itâs hard to ever catch back up!

And so, my Etsy shop was born. I created digital downloads for calving, lambing, and kidding season, individual animal records for cattle, lambs, and goats, along with a record sheet for hay season, and a farm inventory sheet. The greatest part about digital downloads is once you purchase and download, you can utilize it as many times as you want! One download, and youâre set for every calving season to come. One download, and you can keep up with every animal in your herd. The downloads are even editable on your computer. So if you have terrible handwriting, you can type the information directly into the record sheet.

Thank you for reading my What I Made Wednesday post, and of course, I want to share a discount for you to download these problem solving products! From now until the end of August, use code WILDROSE for 10% off any digital download in my shop. Visit https://www.etsy.com/shop/flyingpigcattleco to check out available products. Have an idea for an agriculture related digital product? Send it my way sarabeth@flyingpigcattleco.com
