I was sitting by the pool sipping my fruity adult beverage in Cabo nearing the end of my honeymoon. I spent two glorious weeks with my hubby soaking up all the tacos, tequila, and sunshine I could stand. Part of me wanted to stay forever and the other part of me was excited/nervous as all hell for my adventure ahead.
I had spent months ‘researching’ what my new life would look like as a new “Farm Wife’. I Googled. I read blogs. I found ladies on social media sharing their stories, etc. As I sat on that chair, I felt a pull towards sharing my story. I wanted to talk about my journey in hopes I could connect with others. Others who would understand this new unknown I was heading towards.
So I started an Instagram page….

Well, three years later I’m not on a beach chair in Mexico – just an uncomfortable stool at Starbucks sipping my, now cold, black coffee – but just the same, I am celebrating my third Anniversary sharing my story of Agriculture.
The last three years have been full of changes from the way of life I once knew. I said good-bye to a career and city life and hello shit on my boots and a dirty-smiling face. Though my life in agriculture doesn’t look typical – it’s my own.
My resume has grown to include Farmer-in-training, Goat Wrangler, Calf Mama, Farm Cat Collector, Farm-Trepreneur, Blogger, Community Builder, and Podcaster. I will be adding a few new titles to my resume this year, one being public speaker *insert nervous shriek here*.
I want to say to you- thank you for being here. Thank you for being a part of this community. I am happy to continue to share my story and my life in Ag with you. Though we may only know each other through the screen, I am happy to have made a connection with you – no matter how big or small.
Cheers friends,

KD ✌🏼❤
