On today’s episode of The Rural Woman Podcast, you’ll meet Richelle Barrett. Richelle is a Rancher, Photographer and Writer from Havre, Montana who’s name might sound familiar to those of you have who have been listening to the Rural Woman Podcast from the beginning.

Richelle Barrett | Bio
I was born and raised on a commercial cattle ranch south of Havre, Montana. I was active in 4H as a kid, showing horses and market beef steers, along with dogs, lambs, and cats.
I attended college in Wyoming for two years, where I started out in Pre-Vet and then changed my major to Equine Riding and Training when I realized chemistry and mathematics were never going to get easier for me. After graduation, I married my high school sweetheart and went back to college, this time for Ag Business.
We moved back onto the family ranch in the fall of 2008.
We have two girls, Macy and Ainsley, who are 8 and 6. They help with all the cow work, are learning to ride their horses, and are involved in 4H.
Shane and I run about 170 head of commercial cattle of our own, alongside my parents cattle. In total we are up around 500 head or so.
I work full time as a Financial Specialist for Northwest Farm Credit Services in Havre, and am the office secretary for our church. I am a writer, blogger, photographer, and advocate for ranching and the cattle industry. I spend weeknights and weekends wrangling kids and helping on the ranch as much as I can.
