Patron-Only Episode – Making It Your Own: Renovating The Family Farmhouse + Writing a Children’s Book in 2020 with Billi J. Miller
We’re celebrating The Rural Woman Podcast’s second anniversary with a Patron-Only episode with my dear friend Billi J. Miller. Billi was one of my very first interviews all the way back on episode 3 of the podcast. Billi is an author, photographer, speaker and writer from east-central Alberta, Canada. Previously a city-living, 9-5 Government worker, Billi moved to the country to marry the man of her dreams in 2010, and traded concrete and traffic for life on a 100-year old prairie farm.
Our initial intent for this interview was to talk about her newest publishing – Bubble Took A Trip, a children’s book she wrote and self published with her two daughters. We ended up having a meaningful conversation about Billi’s recent farmhouse renovation and what it’s like being the in-law in a multigenerational farmhouse that I left in the interview. I think this is one of my top 5 favourite conversations I’ve had on the show.
