EPISODE 116 – OVERCOMING LIMITING BELIEFS: THE ROAD TO BECOMING A FARMER WITH RHONDA KESSLERING
On this episode of The Rural Woman Podcast, you’ll meet Rhonda Kesslering (@rhonda_kesslering). Rhonda grew up on a multigenerational grain farm in South Central Saskatchewan. The youngest of three kids, she was raised by entrepreneurial parents who together grew registered seed and built a seed cleaning plant. The loss of Rhonda’s father in 2010 from his battle with Kidney Cancer brought the family closer together and shifted roles in their operation.
Rhonda had gone to school to become a vet tech and worked in the industry for 4 years before experiencing burn out. She made the decision to leave her job and head back to the family farm to embark on her career path as a farmer. Rhonda now works alongside her brother growing crops, running heavy equipment, and operating the seed cleaning plant during the winter months.
Although Rhonda grew up on the farm, she never thought this would be what she would end up doing as her career. She shares with us how she overcame her limiting beliefs to become the farmer she is today.
