EPISODE 136 – CREATING A SIMPLE AND FULFILLING HOMESTEAD WITH JENNIFER SPENCER
Jennifer is the farmer behind Yellow Brick Road Farm. She farms with her family, on their one-acre homestead on Cape Sable Island, a small island on the southwest tip of Nova Scotia. Their homestead acts as a brooder for their small-scale pastured poultry, pig and beef operation which runs from April till October on their family’s 200-year-old farmland about 30 minutes away.
Jennifer loves supporting local agriculture and cultivating community connections with agriculture with everything from setting up a 4 H club in their area to being a founder and President of their local farmers market. She hosts educational workshops, learning to preserve classes and school field trips on their farm. Last April, she hosted the first Simple East Coast Living Fair, bringing together local experts and the community to learn basic homestead and farming skills. It was a huge success and plans are underway for another.
Her passion for storytelling and writing come together to illustrate her love for her family, life’s hard lessons learned, and experiences from their simple life on their small island.

AGI Storm FX takes the guesswork out of seed treating.
Building on the success of previous models, the key functions of the AGI STORM FX have been refined through consultation with our current users. The AGI STORM FX has been engineered for accuracy, flexibility and mobility, gentle seed handling and easy clean-out, all while reducing user exposure.
Unlike other seed treaters, the AGI STORM FX accurately measures untreated seed directly from the bin, precisely meters and applies the seed treatment, gently mixes the seed for consistent, even coverage and then transfers the treated seed into the truck, ready to plant. The simplified process provided by the AGI STORM FX reduces user exposure, making in-the-yard seed treating safe, simple and convenient while giving you total control over the seed treating process.
