Suzette is a Health Communications Scientist with over 25 years of international and domestic experience and the founder of Food Indy, all about food independence. She is a worm farmer, 4th generation backyard gardener and home chef. You might find her at local estate sales or trying to figure out how to turn old things into new ones.

She is a public speaker and also the co-host of the Positively Green Podcast.

As a public health consultant, Suzette’s clients have included UC San Francisco, UC Berkeley, the Institute for High Quality Care, and Bridge Clinical Research. She holds an Masters in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and is a Cultural Humility facilitator trained by Dr. Melanie Tervalon.

Outside of her consulting practice, Suzette is a mother and wife, small urban farmer, and is on the Board of Directors of Healthy Black Families, Inc. where her focus is on growing a network of small urban farmers who say Yes to Food Independence.

She believes in the power of a strong connection to people and the planet, seasonal living, and medicinal plants, some of which she grows in the Food Indy garden.
