balancing farming, family, and female leadership
Alex Brochu is a farmer based in the Peace Country of Northern Alberta. In addition to running a grain farm, she started a thriving flower farm to support her busy floral business.
As an advocate for women in agriculture, Alex is part of The Northern Rural Chicks, a committee dedicated to supporting and empowering women in Northern Alberta. They organize events like the annual Women’s Day, featuring inspiring guest speakers on mental and physical health, as well as gardening and farming tips. The group also hosts workshops and FarmHer markets, fostering connection and growth within the rural community.
