weathering the challenges of ranching
Leah Peterson is a fifth-generation rancher working alongside her multi-generational family in Northeast Custer County, Nebraska. In the aftermath of the 2019 Nebraska Bomb Cyclone, she launched Clear Creek Ranch Mom, initially to share helpful resources, which quickly grew into a supportive community offering encouragement, connection, and a touch of humor.
Leah is wife to Matt and mother to Maggie and Lucy. She is passionate about supporting new and beginning farmers and ranchers, helping families transition operations to the next generation, and advocating for self-care among busy moms. A faith-driven leader, Leah champions all aspects of agriculture and the people who make it thrive.
