On this week’s episode of The Rural Woman Podcast™, you’ll meet Jennifer Spencer.

Jennifer is the farmer behind Yellow Brick Road Farm. She farms with her family on their one-acre homestead on Cape Sable Island, a small island on the southwest tip of Nova Scotia. Their homestead acts as a brooder for their small-scale pastured poultry, pig and beef operation which runs from April till October on their family’s 200-year-old farmland about 30 minutes away.

Jennifer loves supporting local agriculture and cultivating community connections with agriculture with everything from setting up a 4 H club in their area to being a founder and President of their local farmers market. She hosts educational workshops, learning to preserve classes and school field trips on their farm.
