I’m Katelyn Duban and I am a first generation female farmer in Southern Alberta, Canada. I married into agriculture back in 2016 to my multigenerational farmer husband, affectionately known as Mr. Wild Rose Farmer. We live and grow on our families certified organic grain and oilseed operation. In the Spring and Summer seasons, I raise a small herd of meat goats and have previously raised bottle calves as well.
One day in the summer of 2018, after being totally inspired by the women in Ag I was seeing on Instagram, I came into the house and announced to my husband that I was going to start a podcast to share the stories of Women in Agriculture. His response was ‘That sounds like a lot of work’. Little did I know how right he was! Nonetheless, I began to work and in the Spring of 2019 I launched The Rural Woman Podcast not knowing if this was something anyone would listen to. It turns out, I wasn’t the only one out there wanting to celebrate the stories of Women in Agriculture.
And now…here I am, so happy to connect with you!
